Base Stats of weapons & shields? - Guild Wars Forums

Ok, so I have a shield that says Armor 10 (req 4 tactics).

I am a ranger/elementalist....so how do i know just what armor this thing is actually giving me? I obviously do not have 4 tactics, as i have nothing in the way of warrior. So, according to the shield, I am not getting 10 armor....so, how do i find out what armor I will get?

That is one thing GW needs, IMO. I want to see what damage I'm dealing and defense I have with my equipped weapons/armor/items.
